Orator: At what point did friendship become love and at what point did love transcend into friendship? The heart can be gullible because it has no mind of its own but the brain can also be heartless because its foremost ability is to be logical. But regardless, the heart always gets what it wants because the heart controls the blood flow into the genitals.

Lana: It’s me her friend, Lana.

Lana: (Confused) What happened? Do I know you?
Caro: (Chuckles) No, but I know you.
Lana: Okay? Can I come in?
Caro: Sure, her room is to the left, just be careful, I’m watching you.
(Lana, walks slowly towards Shady’s room)
(Knocks)
Shady: Who’s there?
Lana: It’s me, Lana.
Shady: Lana? Is this a joke? Why are you here?
Lana: I came to see you, babes open the door it’s weird standing here.
(Shady rushes to the door excitedly, giving Lana a warm hug immediately she opened the door).
Shady: You came!
Lana: Well I did. I didn’t have enough battery and credit to call and since I went for a walk I decided to show up.
Shady: (Smiling). That’s so thoughtful of you.
Lana: So what’s wrong? Why is your face puffy? And why is your flat mate behaving weird?
Shady: It’s nothing, just a reaction and who’s behaving weird? Caro?
Lana: Don’t lie to me, you’ve been crying right? Plus is that her name?
Shady: Embarrassed, yes I have. Yes, that’s Caro, Jessica isn’t around.
Lana: Okay, so why have you been crying?
Shady: It’s nothing. You know me, I’m a cry baby.
Lana: Yes I know. But who hurt you?
Shady: You.
Lana: (Looking puzzled) Me? How?
Shady: You don’t love me.
Lana: (Sigh!) Babes, we’ve had this discussion before, i love you the way a brother loves his sister. I care deeply for you as a sister nothing more.
Shady: Lana, we’re not siblings. I know my parents and siblings and you know yours, why are you bent on zoning me?
Lana: I’m not zoning you, Shady, it’s the truth. I can’t give you what I don’t have, besides there are other boys out there that will do anything to have you. For instance, Benson, my flat mate, he’s got a serious crush on you.
Shady: I don’t want any boys, or benson, it’s you I want, Lana, it’s you.
Lana: You can’t have me, I can’t have you, it hurts but that’s the reality.
Shady: Why not? What is so bad about me that you can’t want me? I’ve seen the way you look at other women, including my sister. I’ve heard the way you want other women so why not me, Lana, why not?
Lana: Babes, it’s not you, it’s me. Trust me, we can’t be together for your sake.
Shady: Lord, I’m a fool. I’ve destroyed my dignity and pride for you, I even foolishly believed in you but now I see clearly.
Lana: Don’t say all these things, Shady, I respect you.
Shady: (stands up) Lana, get out of my room now!
Lana: Calm down, shady, try to understand me.
Shady: (Screaming) Get out, Lana, I hate you, totally!
Lana: No you don’t!
(Caro knocks twice and enters the room)
Caro: What’s going on, Shady, why are you screaming?
Lana: It’s a private discussion, Please mind your business.
Caro: (Enraged) Excuse me? In my house?
Lana: This is private, dude, can you excuse us?
Shady: Caro, please can you tell him to leave my room?
Caro: (Looks at Lana). You heard the lady?

By the time Lana got home it was already dark.
Benson: Hey man, we made rice, hungry?
Lana: (Feeling angry) Thank you, I’m not.

Lana: Yes I am. Talk to you later.
(Lana reached under his bed, took out his stash, rolls his blunt and lights it; as he took the first drag, he remembered the night he saw Shady in pain, the night that changed everything, between them).
